Thank You for coming to surf theater.com this was an an idea i had when i got my first digital video capture card and a Sony High 8 video Camera. I got Video Shop as my video Editor with the card, I think. It worked with video that was 640 X 480. It was created by Strata I believe though that they had purchased an older version of Avid but I could be wrong, Video Shop had some very advanced features for the time like compositing but it was maybe too advanced as the computers were very slow at that time.
My Plan was to go down to the Huntingington Beach Pier and shoot the surfing and edit the some of the highlights of the day and post it on my website. I realized that was a lot of workand there just wasn't enough time so I started to update every week then monthly then….
I started working with Michael Horton at the Los Angeles Final Cut User Group (LAFCPUG) which morphed into the LA Creative Pro User Group LACPUG I shot the meetings and edited them where after a few different sites to try and get the videos to interested people we ended up posting the meetings on You Tube.
I was able to Travel with Michael to San Francisco, Europe featuring Amsterdam .Also working with my Friend Rick Young in London.
LACPUG had it's last Meeting but the videos will still remain on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/@lafcpug.
